Celebrity Private Chefs

Confidential private chef placement for talent, athletes and public figures, in the residence, on tour and on location. Private Chefs Inc. has staffed high-profile households since 1995 under NDA, and publishes no client list, in any format, ever.

TOURS, SETS & RESIDENCES

Private Chefs Inc. (PCI) places celebrity private chefs for principals whose kitchen moves with the calendar. A tour leg, a shooting schedule, press days and a return to the primary residence each impose a different rhythm, and the chef absorbs all of them: catering-truck days on a studio lot, a trailer with one induction burner, a hotel suite at 2 a.m. after a show. Our chefs have done this work, from cooking for musicians on tour to cooking on a movie or TV set.

DISCRETION, NDAs & SECURITY COORDINATION

Discretion is the deliverable. Every PCI candidate signs a confidentiality agreement as a condition of placement, clears reference verification and background screening, and understands that guest lists, addresses and schedules never leave the house. In protected households the chef also works inside a security perimeter: advance teams, vetted deliveries, controlled kitchen access and a working relationship with the detail, which we cover in our guide to working with bodyguards at a private estate.

CAMERA-READY NUTRITION & TRAINING BLOCKS

Roles come with body composition targets and deadlines. Our chefs cook to macro targets set by a trainer or physician through a training block, hold the line through a shoot, and rebuild the plan afterwards without turning every meal into a supplement. For programs led by a medical or longevity team we place performance nutrition chefs, and for households that want technique at the top of the market we place Michelin-caliber chefs.

Types of Celebrity Private Chef Roles We Place

A public figure’s kitchen is not one job. Touring, shooting and being at home each impose a different schedule, and the chef who thrives on a tour bus is not always the chef who runs a Bel Air residence for six years. These are the roles we place, and we scope which one the principal actually needs before a single candidate is presented.

Residence Chefs

Full-time chefs running the primary household through recording, filming and downtime.

Touring Chefs

Chefs who travel with the tour and cook out of hotel suites, buses and venue kitchens.

Film & TV Production Chefs

On-location cooking around a shooting schedule, trailers and studio lot rules.

Performance Nutrition Chefs

Macro-calculated cooking against a trainer or physician's plan for a role or a season.

Michelin-Caliber Chefs

Fine-dining technique for principals who entertain at the top of the market.

Travel & Aviation Chefs

Private jet and multi-residence service with aviation-grade food safety.

How Much Does a Celebrity Private Chef Cost?

Compensation for a private chef in a high-profile household starts where senior estate roles end. Expect $150,000 to $190,000 for a senior chef running one residence with entertaining and travel, and $200,000 to $250,000 for an executive chef covering several properties, a touring schedule or a kitchen team. Touring work is quoted separately, usually as a day rate plus per diem and travel, because the chef is on the road rather than in a house. Discretion carries a premium of its own: candidates who hold confidentiality across years of public exposure are a small group, and the market prices them accordingly. Most principals add a discretionary bonus of 7 to 15 percent to keep a chef through several project cycles.

Celebrity Private Chef FAQs

Which celebrities have private chefs?

Most public figures with a demanding schedule employ one, and many have said so publicly in interviews and press profiles. PCI does not confirm, deny or list its own clients, in any format, ever. That is the condition of working in this category, and any agency willing to name a client for marketing is telling you what it will do with yours.

Generally $150,000 to $250,000 per year for a full-time residence role, with executive chefs overseeing multiple properties or a touring schedule at the top of that band. Touring is usually quoted as a day rate plus per diem rather than folded into salary. Our salary guidelines set out the tiers in detail.

A celebrity chef is a public figure in their own right, known through restaurants, television and books. A celebrity’s private chef is the opposite by design: a career professional who cooks for one household and stays invisible. PCI places the second. The two get confused constantly and they are opposite jobs.

Yes, when the principal wants their nutrition held constant on the road. That means cooking out of hotel suites, venue kitchens and buses, working around soundcheck and show times, and eating schedules that run to two in the morning. The reality of the job is covered in our piece on cooking for musicians on tour.

Every candidate signs a confidentiality agreement as a condition of placement, before any household detail is shared. Guest lists, addresses, schedules, medical information and photographs never leave the residence. Candidates who have breached confidentiality elsewhere do not reach a client of ours, and reference calls are built to surface exactly that.

Routinely. In protected households the chef operates inside a perimeter: vetted deliveries, controlled kitchen access, advance coordination for travel and residences, and a working relationship with the detail. We explain how that functions day to day in our guide to working with bodyguards at a private estate.

Yes. Body composition targets for a role, a season or a tour are standard in this category. The chef cooks to the plan set by the trainer or physician, holds it through a shoot, and rebuilds afterwards without turning every meal into supplementation. See performance nutrition chefs for that specialty.

Yes, for talent rather than for crew catering. The chef works around call times, trailer constraints and studio lot rules, and keeps the principal’s nutrition consistent across weeks of location work. The conditions are described in cooking on a movie or TV set.

One to two weeks for a defined role when the brief is clear. Every candidate presented has already cleared background screening, reference verification and a working trial, so a compressed timeline does not mean a compressed standard.

No. We publish no client names, no logo walls and no case studies with identifying detail. Three decades of press coverage and client reviews, published with permission, are collected in our legacy.

Yes. Principals who entertain at the top of the market often want fine-dining technique in the house, and we place chefs with tasting-menu and Michelin backgrounds who have made the transition to private service, which is a real adjustment. See Michelin-caliber chefs.

Concentrated in Los Angeles and New York City, with regular placements in Miami, Palm Beach, Nashville, Aspen and Beverly Hills, and travel-based roles that follow the principal anywhere. Our full coverage is on the service areas page.

Every search carries a replacement protection period and a written service agreement. In this category the more common failure is not skill but fit with the schedule and the security environment, which is why the working trial happens in the real setting before anyone signs. Terms are set out in our agency terms.
