SUMMER PRIVATE CHEF FIRE ISLAND, NY

REOPENED FOR APPLICANTS

Family of 3 adults and 2 children (6 and 8 years old) seeking a summer chef !

DURATION: Start date approx. July 1 for shopping and prepping, until August 29, 2026

MEALS: Lunch approx. 12-1 and dinner nightly 6-7pm

SCHEDULE: Chef is off Tuesday and Wednesday.

NO STAFF MEALS: sometimes they’ll have leftovers or fend for themselves

CUISINE: all styles enjoyed, especially Asian cuisines, Indian etc. no allergies. Mrs. is a vegetarian.  Family likes a variety of cuisine styles and service is family style. No plating.

ENTERTAINING: occasionally another family will join so up to 10-12 people. The housekeeper can assist with kitchen cleanup and service.

HOUSING: housing is provided in a small, air-conditioned, staff house about 5 minutes from main house. Private bedroom and shared bath. Other staff sharing the home will be female. Chef may remain on the island on days off, if preferred.

COMPENSATION: 800 per day.

The chef can park their car for the week at the ferry terminal on mainland and will be reimbursed for parking if needed. No cars are required on the island. Shopping is directly across the street for many staples and produce etc. Fish can be ordered and sent over by ferry to pick up on the island. All can be explained to the chef in advance.

The ideal chef will create weekly menus, make sure all shopping is organized and execute all family style meals and any snacks. The chef should have a positive, happy attitude, and be able to interact kindly with the family and any staff.
