35 min northeast of Philadelphia, PA—Family of five (2 adults 3 school age children) seeking a full time, LIVE OUT, private chef for their home at a northern suburban area near Philadelphia.
IMPORTANT-The ideal chef is experienced in private homes and has culinary training including experience in fine dining restaurants which are Michelin star or similar level. Chef should be creative and always interested in being innovative and learning novelties in the industry. Chefs with an often-repetitive repertoire of dishes are not a fit for this role.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, Sat-Sun off unless requested for occasional, weekend entertaining
MEALS: Lunch for one principal packed and ready for delivery by staff to office by 1250pm. Sometimes light lunch for the other principal. Dinner nightly for the family and usually ending by 10pm after all clean up.
The chef will also be responsible for filling fridge and leaving simple meal components cooked or marinated for self-serve options on weekends. Items like salads, quesadillas, steaks etc.
CUISINE: healthy Mediterranean cuisine is most enjoyed; One principal is vegetarian and enjoys Italian and some Latin cuisines amongst others. The other principal enjoys lots of proteins (fish, both cooked and raw), plenty of vegetables and enjoys creative menus (i.e. Le Bernardin, Robuchon favorite restaurants ) etc., kids like all styles of casual fare and are encouraged to increase their palettes. NO allergies.
Weekly menus should be submitted by Saturday prior to the dining week, for approval.
TRAVEL will be required in summer to a home in southern NJ for 4-6 weeks, usually in August with sporadic trips in earlier summer months or a few days per week. Additional travel to the Bahamas 2-3 weeks in winter, Holidays, and sometimes Spring breaks. Ample notice and housing are provided in both locations either on property or very close by. All required travel is paid for by employer.
COMPENSATION: Salary DOE, paid vacation. Paid medical for chef and spouse, ability to pay in for family coverage. 401k with match. Reasonable relocation costs will be considered if applicable. Temporary housing will be available for relocation while seeking permanent housing in the area. All contract terms are negotiable for the right candidate.
