A family of two adults and four school age children, plus a cat and dog, seeking a FULL TIME chef, 5 days per week YEAR-ROUND With 2 months in Nantucket for the summer.

SCHEDULE: 11am-7pm Monday – Friday, Bronxville, NY. 5 days a week Nantucket, days off TBD but usually midweek off.

MEALS: Lunch for 2 adults and family dinners. The chef will menu plan, shop, prepare and either serve or leave for self serve if the family is busy with activities at meal times. On Nantucket required meals can vary but almost always include dinners nightly.

CUISINE: One child has a tree nut allergy, otherwise no restrictions. Mr. may require some collaboration with his trainer on dietary needs. Cuisine styles enjoyed are mostly Mediterranean style and also include Italian, Mexican, Sushi, Asian etc. Home a has a casual atmosphere and a very warm family environment. One goal is to broaden the kid’s palettes, but they are pretty open to some experimentation.

TRAVEL: In summer (After July 4 through August) the family goes to their home on Nantucket for the 2-month period. The chef will accompany the family and can stay for the entire 2-month period or a schedule can be agreed upon with chef staying 1-2 weeks and then going home for a week or similar. Housing is provided with a private bedroom and bath in the guest house shared with one housekeeper.

ENTERTAINING: In summer on Nantucket some weekends with extended family for up to 20-25 people total. There is a housekeeper to assist with service.

COMPENSATION: Salary Depends on experience. Health insurance stipend will be considered if needed. 10 business days (2 weeks) PTO; holidays off (exact holidays will be specified in contract)

1099 independent contractor’s status for payment. Reimbursement for gas when chef uses his/her own vehicle for shopping. Vehicles are also available at the residence for shopping. Parking is available in Bronxville for the chef.
