A mature couple seeking a full-time chef for their residences in SOUTHERN NJ and Miami, Florida.
SCHEDULE: South Florida approximately 6 months (Fisher island) (November to May)
South, NJ (near Atlantic city) (June- Oct-Nov)
Employers require 6 days per week coverage at each location. The chef will have one midweek day off and is also off when couple travels approx. once every 6 weeks. This time off can be for multiple days or longer. The Holidays may or may not be required depending on travel. Usually, the employer is away during Christmas holiday for week to 10 days and chef is off.
Chef can live in provided housing in both locations and chef’s vehicle will be auto trained for the season.
HOUSING: FL, 1bedroom apt. on Fisher Island which will accommodate a spouse/partner).
NJ, 1 bedroom apartment approx. 15min from employer’s Beach residence
MEALS REQUIRED: Lunch and Dinner daily approx. 12-1pm and 6-7 pm respectively
STAFF: NO live in staff. Day staff only, no staff meals required.
CUISINE STYLE: All styles enjoyed but mostly Mediterranean diet with no heavy sauces or fats. No allergies or dietary restrictions unless guests have requests. No pork but some exceptions for some family members. American, Italian, Asian, Chinese, to name some favorites but all styles enjoyed. Nicely presented plates but Michelin star plating is not required.
ENTERTAINING: Often and usually for family members. Typically, dinner is for 2-6 people daily. When all family is together its about 12 people (adult children and grandchildren) Housekeeping staff will assist in service if more than the 2 principals are dining.
TRAVEL: Chef is required to travel with couple to both homes seasonally. The employers travel often both domestically, abroad and on boat resulting in additional paid time off for chef since this is a salaried position.
COMPENSATION: Salary (150k range) DOE, plus free housing in both locations, full employer paid medical, PTO & 2 weeks paid vacation to start.
