FT, LIVE IN CHEF, NEAR CHARLOTTE, NC

The client is a professional couple, with a 3 story home. The chef will be housed on 3rd floor of their residence. The chef’s apartment has an elevator and private entrance with wonderful views of the accessible lake.

Accommodation includes a huge master bedroom and bath, great room, fireplace, balcony, full kitchen, washer and dryer and all utility costs are included. The second floor of the residence is for house guests and is normally unoccupied. Employer lives on first floor.

Meals required are occasional lunches but mostly dinners for two, nightly, which are prepared in chef’s kitchen on third floor and lowered by dumbwaiter to first floor at approx. 6pm. Clients will serve themselves. The chef does not serve or clear. All shopping is done by chef at nearby providers. The chef would use his/her own vehicle as all is very close by.

Cuisine required is diverse and no allergies or religious preferences. Client prefers the chef plan all meals using mostly natural foods and open to most cuisine styles.  Presentation is important and healthy, health conscious, natural food cuisine is preferred in a variety of styles.

Schedule: Monday through Friday with weekends off, except 1-2 Sundays a month when additional family come for dinner. A weekday off is substituted if chef works a weekend day in these instances. In summer 2 weeks of 3 meals per day may be required for up to 14 people. This is a busy time of year and the chef would be more visible for service during larger family group times.

Compensation:  Salary only position, plus 2 weeks paid vacation. No other benefits offered. Housing provided on the 3rd floor of the home as described above. Salary range 60k with some flex. and depends on experience.  

The employer travels approximately 4 to 6 weeks per year resulting in additional time off with pay for the chef.  Optionally, the chef may be asked to travel to varied destinations and provide chef services if he/she desires. Destinations vary and may include the Caribbean and Hawaii.
